Who doesn’t want to turn their passion for gin into a job? Furthermore, who doesn’t want to excel to the point where they are inducted into the Gin Hall of Fame?
Australian Dr Anne Brock is the Bombay Master Distiller, leading a team of 16 distillers at Bombay Sapphire’s Laverstoke Mill Distillery in London.
After studying at Oxford University and getting her PhD in organic chemistry from St. Catherine’s College, she worked in London and India before joining the Bombay Sapphire team in 2017, where she focused on the production of several House of Bombay spirits.
Brock went on to be on the board of directors at the Gin Guild in 2015. By the end of 2021, she was named Master Distiller of the Year in the Icons of Gin 2021 Awards, and come 2023, she was inducted into the Gin Hall of Fame.

At a time when sustainability has become so significant and with Bombay Sapphire’s mission to be the most sustainable gin in the world, Brock is now pioneering innovative strategies in distillation as she works toward her goal of the distillery reaching net zero.

As Bombay Sapphire’s master distiller, she has transformed the distillery, Laverstoke Mill, to be a zero-waste-to-landfill site and has implemented a system to transform all of the waste botanicals used in the gin process into enough green electricity to power ten average homes per year.
Not only is Brock concerned with distilling a great gin, she is also focused on protecting the planet and leaving a legacy.
In a world where corporations often oven overlook their impact on the environment, she is a trailblazer showing that it is possible to run a profitable business model, while still considering how the earth is impacted and make a positive shift in the way gin and other potables are produced.
