Pamela Anderson’s recent Paris Fashion Week appearances have people talking, and not for her incredible style but for her inspiring move to sport a bare face at the biggest event in fashion.

The Baywatch actress and outspoken activist embraced an entirely makeup-free look at Paris Fashion Week shows this year, but her choice goes way beyond a fashion statement – it’s a heartfelt tribute to Pamela’s late makeup artist and friend, Alexis Vogel, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2019.
Pamela Anderson and Alexis Vogel first met on shoot for a Playboy cover in 1993, when Vogel turned Anderson into a ‘Baby Bardot‘. The pair grew to become best friends.
“She was the best” recalled Pamela in an exclusive interview with Elle. “And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup.”
Pamela described her move towards going au naturale as “freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too.”

The 56-year-old star went on to explain that embracing the journey of ageing by going bare-faced has helped her reach a “good place”.
“I think we all start looking a little funny when we get older,” she said. “And I’m kind of laughing at myself when I look at the mirror. I go, ‘Wow, this is really…what’s happening to me?’ It’s a journey.”
Going makeup free isn’t a new concept among the stars – Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Biel, Salma Hayek, Alicia Keys and Kourtney Kardashian have all done it at some point or another – but Anderson’s dare to do so at one of the biggest events in fashion is inspiring.
Pamela flaunted her fresh-faced look at The Row, Victoria Beckham and Vivienne Westwood at Paris Fashion Week and the Proenza Schouler show at New York Fashion Week this year, proving that true beauty extends far beyond what you’ve got on your face…
