If you’re like my family, this week might not be gift-wrapping week – we generally wait until Christmas Eve. Regardless though, what do you do with all that leftover wrapping paper?
Tossing it all out might seem like the only option, but there are quite a few things you can do with all these little scraps of Christmas joy.
1. DIY gift tags
Save some money and the environment by making your own gift tags with any wrapping paper you might have left over. You can cut out unique shapes and make them as big as you want. Make these DIY tags stand out by using paper for different gifts, or if you’re a fan of the minimalist look, match the tag to the wrapped gift!
2. Paper bows
Another cute DIY project for any leftover wrapper paper is paper bows! Take a look at these handy tutorials for a range of sweet paper bow ideas!

3. Drawer liners
Leftover wrapping paper doesn’t need to be reserved for Christmas, birthdays, or anniversaries. Large enough scraps can be used as drawer liners! Say goodbye to scratches and unexpected messes. Even better, it adds a sweet pop of colour to your otherwise boring drawers.
4. Protect your things
Christmas ornaments are dainty, fragile little things, but what can protect them on the Christmas box? The answer: leftover wrapping paper! Like newspaper, wrapping paper can protect your ornaments!
5. Use as scrapbook paper
Scrapbooking, while a fun hobby, can be expensive. But wrapping paper scraps are free! Wrapping paper could add a special touch to your scrapbook, especially if you’re documenting that specific gift-giving occasion!
6. DIY bookmarks
If you’ve gifted your beloved bookworm a book (or several books), you can add to the special occasion by making a bookmark with the leftover wrapping paper. Simply glue the pieces to some cardboard, laminate it, and voila!
