On Saturday 20 January, Anlia and Eben Etzebeth announced the birth of their first child – a moment celebrated by South Africa, as well as the couple’s closest friends – including Eben’s fellow Springbok champs, and their wives.
The news first broke on Saturday, when Anlia took to Instagram to share the special announcement. In her post, Anlia wrote that their baby had been born on Tuesday 16 January, and that no words could describe the feeling.
Of course, with a baby ‘Elizebedi’ having graced the world, South Africans have been celebrating the family of three, sharing their wishes and congratulations with the couple across social media platforms.

Eben’s fellow Springbok players and their wives have also expressed their excitement and congratulations for the Etzebeth’s publicly, welcoming the bundle of joy. On the post, the Springbok WAGS and their champion husbands commented:
Cheslin Kolbe said: “Baie geluk julle TWEE 🙏🏻” (“Congratulations you two”) while his wife, Layla, wrote: “Guys!!! 😍 congratulations, we cannot wait to meet you baby girl ❤️❤️❤️”

While Anlia and Eben have not yet confirmed the name of their newborn baby girl, South Africa lovingly celebrates the birth of the baby ‘Elizabedi.”
