Maxton Hall
If you’ve been anywhere near TikTok lately, you’ve probably seen the edits of this intense romantic drama. According to IMDB, the summary reads:
Quick-witted scholarship student Ruby unwittingly witnesses a secret at Maxton Hall. Arrogant millionaire heir James is determined to silence her, but their clash ignites an unexpected spark between them.
It’s an enemies-to-lovers tale and has a 71% Rotten Tomatoes score. So it might be worth the watch. See it on Amazon Prime.
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story
If you haven’t watched Queen Charlotte yet, you must. You get some stunning insight into King George and Queen Charlotte’s romance, which is often discussed throughout Bridgerton. And of course, there are beautiful monologues, stunning costumes and plenty of Charlotte’s humour.

The Law According to Lidia Poët
Another historical drama to satisfy your Bridgerton cravings, The Law According to Lidia Poët follows the true Lida Poët, Italy’s first female lawyer.
The IMDB synopsis reads:
Forbidden from practicing law, a woman prepares an appeal to overturn the court’s decision in this true story of Lidia Poët, Italy’s first female lawyer.
It has a 7.4/10 rating on IMDB and a whopping 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. We’ll definitely be adding this to our Netflix watch lists!
The Empress
And finally, we have The Empress, another period drama!
The synopsis reads:
Two young people meet. A fateful encounter – the proverbial love at first sight. He is Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria-Hungary, she is Elisabeth von Wittelsbach, Princess of Bavaria and the sister of the woman Franz is to marry.
It has high ratings, stunning costumes, and of course, spectacular high-society drama. Count us in! Enjoy all six episodes on Netflix (with another season coming soon).
