Price recalled the ordeal in an interview with MailOnline, describing how she was held at gunpoint and sexually assualted by the attackers.
During the incident, Price, her children Junior (now 19) and Princess (now 17), and the production crew of her reality show ‘My Crazy Life’ were ambushed by armed hijackers.
“The experience when I was filming with ITV in South Africa, we had no security. If we had security, they would have been able to deal with the six guys that jumped us, held me at gunpoint and raped me,” Price said.
The attackers ransacked the vehicles, stealing laptops, iPads, passports, cash, and jewellery, but left behind camera gear.
The crew was traveling from Johannesburg to Swaziland when the incident occurred. Despite the severity of the attack, the perpetrators were never apprehended.
Price recounted the chaos and fear during the attack, stating:
“I could make out two men, who I now know to be hijackers, trying to get into the other car, where the film crew were, while the rest of them were around our car. I tried to shout to the film crew to come help us. But no one did. No one could.”
“It was terrifying — the kids were screaming and I kept saying to them, ‘Don’t worry, you’re fine, you’re fine. Everything will be OK.’ But I was absolutely petrified. I genuinely thought we were all going to die,” she added, as per IOL.

The traumatic event had Price fearing for her life as she tried to shield herself and her children.
“Next thing I remember is trying to find the keys to start the car and then I had the keys, but my hands were shaking so much I couldn’t get them in the ignition,” she recalled.
“And then it was too late. The hijackers saw what I was doing and quickly snatched the keys off me. I always take a pillow with me and I put it up to my head thinking they were going to shoot me. I was waiting for them to shoot me through the pillow.”
Price’s friend, Neil Tawse, was severely beaten during the hijacking as he attempted to fend off the attackers.
“Neil put his life on the line for us,” Price said, noting that he still suffers from vision problems as a result of the attack.
Katie Price is set to release her autobiographical book, This Is Me, on July 18. The novel is expected to reveal more about Price’s horrific experience in South Africa.
