Khulisa Social Solutions’ Managing Director, Dr. Lesley Ann van Selm, has been awarded the prestigious ‘Women Lifetime Achievement – Africa 2024 Award’ by Prime Awards, a Dubai-based organisation. The Women Lifetime Achievement honour recognises Dr. Van Selm during Women’s Month in South Africa as she has committed her life to social impact.
The award will be officially presented at the International Prime Award Africa – 2024 Ceremony on August 23, 2024 at the Hyatt Regency, Dubai.

- Over 30 000 individuals are empowered through various community programs.
- A 70% reduction in recidivism rates among participants in restorative justice initiatives.
- Successful rehabilitation and reintegration of more than 15 000 youths into society.
- Partnerships with over 200 community organisations to foster collaborative solutions to social challenges.
- Building capacity for more than 250 grassroots NGOs (Non-Governmental Organisations) and CBOs (Community Building Organisations) to research and develop strategies to implement needs-driven interventions.
- Conducted research with over 25 000 children and youth nationally on the causal factors of crime and violence, leading to the development of an ecosystemic, intersectoral approach to address these causal factors.
Not only has Dr. Van Selm contributed to community work, but he has also made her mark through innovative business practices, which has awarded her a professional doctorate from the International University of Europe.
