Almost four months after her crowning moment, SA’s first differently-abled Miss South Africa has shared valuable life lessons that she has learned along her journey, this far.
The 28-year-old beauty has shone as a symbol of perseverance and inclusivity throughout her pageantry reign, not without the helping hands of her supporters, mentors, and life coach, Yvonne Johnston.
The Miss SA organisation recently took to social media, sharing a video of the beauty queen opening up about what she has learned from her life coach during her reign as Miss South Africa.
“These powerful insights have been instrumental in shaping her journey and continue to empower Mia as she embraces her role with grace and determination,” wrote the organisation.

Three life lessons learned by Miss SA Mia le Roux
Mia le Roux shares three valuable life lessons that she has picked up during her journey as Miss South Africa:
1. Focus on your strengths
The beauty queen’s first life lesson is to focus on what you’re good at.
“Whenever starting a session with Yvonne, we’d ask how she’s doing and she would answer ‘I am amazing!’ This made me realise that when we focus on what is hard, we only increase our suffering. When we focus on what we are good at, we will be amazing.”
2. Change it, love it, or leave it
Another life lesson picked up by le Roux, is to know your options when making decisions.
“Whenever faced with a choice, you have three options. Change it. If you can’t change it, love it or leave it. That is the gateway to peace.”
3. Be the victor
‘Be the victor and not the victim’, is a third life lesson learned by the South African beauty queen.
“We must not move from a place of victimhood, but ‘victorhood.’ We also need to be mindful not to enable victimhood. We all deserve to be victors!” says le Roux.
