The grand finale of the Miss Universe 2024 competition took place in Mexico on Sunday morning, with Denmark’s Victoria Kjaer Theilvig scooping the crown from former queen Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua.

Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, who is 21-years-old, is the first Danish woman to take the Miss Universe crown. Here are five other interesting facts about the international beauty queen:
1. She’s a professional dancer
Theilvig is a dance teacher and former professional dancer. She earned her stripes on the dance floor, competing in the European and World Championships.

2. The academic beauty queen would like to attend Harvard
Miss Universe 2024 has a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing and works in the jewellery industry, specialising in diamond sales, reports NDTV. The beauty queen dreams of pursuing a degree in law at Harvard University.

3. Her dreams of becoming a beauty queen run deep
As per NDTV, Theilvig’s dream of becoming a beauty queen started at the early age of five, when she began watching international competition like Miss Universe. Over a decade later, she finds herself holding the crown.

4. She started her pageantry journey at 17
At 17, the Danish beauty competed in her first competition, Miss Denmark, claiming her place as second runner-up. Two years later at 19-years-old, she went on to represent Denmark at Miss Grand International and landed her spot in the Top 20.
In 2024, Theilvig was selected to represent her country as Miss Universe Denmark 2024 in September, before going on to win the international competition.

5. She’s an animal rights activist
The 21-year-old beauty loves animals. The animal rights activist volunteers at a Denmark animal shelter. As per Animal Kingdom Foundation, the beauty queen says:“I’ve learned that every small action counts. Whether it’s volunteering, spreading awareness or simply showing kindness to animals.”
