South African music artist Jeremy Loops recently shared that he and his long term partner, Dr. Mathilda Mennen, will be welcoming their first child in June.
The singer opened up about his excitement in becoming a first-time dad on social media over Easter weekend, joking that he and Mathilda – a medical doctor and musician in her own right – would be releasing a “new collab” together, and a rather special one at that!
“For seven months, we’ve been growing something magical. It’s been the sweetest season of quiet joy and a million thoughts about the future. Now we’re finally ready to share it with you all. A new life is on the way,” wrote the ‘Til I Found You singer. “Girl dad loading,” he added.

Loops, who has kept his private life mostly under wraps, praised his long-term partner, Mathilda, in a piece of writing published by Glamour in 2017, where he honoured the women who have shaped and inspired him throughout life.
There, listed alongside musician Tracy Chapman, poet Audre Lorde and Jeremy’s mother, Brigitte Hewitt, is Dr Mathilda Mennen – the singer’s beautiful (and brainy) muse.
“The medical profession is a demanding one, especially in a country like ours, and Mathilda’s compassion, selflessness and burning desire to help other people are a huge inspiration to me,” he wrote.
The couple, who have been together for over eight years, are set to start the next chapter together June, with the birth of their daughter.
