Massage therapist Michelle Walter shares fabulous aromatherapy blends that are simple to make and great for calming and de-stressing.
Always place your mix of essential oils in a carrier or base oil, such as Jojoba oil, Almond oil or Grape Seed oil.
Flip-top bottle
This blend can be placed in a flip-top bottle and carried in your handbag so when you feel a wave of anxiety coming over you, you can put some in your hands and inhale to help you relax.
Essential oils:
Lavender
Rose Geranium
Frankincense
Mix five drops of each essential oil into 60ml of the carrier oil of your choice. Place in a flip-bottle and use when needed.
Diffusers
The following blends can be used as either diffusers, massage blends or to inhale.
2 drops of Lavender
3 drops of Geranium
5 drops of Roman Chamomile
Additional oils that can be added:
3 drops of Ylang Ylang
3 drops of Frankincense
Add water to the bowl of a ceramic diffuser and mix the oils as a blend. Remember to light the candle and warm the water first before adding the oils.
Soak in the bath
6 drops of Lavender
4 drops of Roman Chamomile
4 drops of Ylang Ylang
Aromatic cotton ball for the pillow at night
1 drop of Lavender
1 drop of Clary Sage or Ylang Ylang
2 drops of Roman Chamomile
