Samantha Cowen, South Africa’s most accomplished female morning show host, took to social media this morning to announce that she has written a new memoir.
The book is titled From Whiskey to Water following Sam’s battle against addiction. This is the first time Sam is publicly speaking out about her struggles.
In the memoir, Sam will take us through all the forms of addiction that she has experienced. From alcohol to food to finally finding a lifestyle that’s healthy and positively rewarding. But, she’s clear that it wasn’t always an easy road, saying, “It’s about how the light at the end of the tunnel is not always a bloody great train.”
Sam’s publisher Melinda Ferguson, from MF Books, confirmed that the memoir is on its way to print. From Whiskey to Water will be released this July.
If you’re battling with addiction or looking for inspiration on self-acceptance then this is a book you should pick up next month. As Sam describes her memoir, “Mostly it’s about trying to swop [sic] being perfect for being human, a daily challenge.”
