An epicurean culinary experience that takes fine dining to a whole new level. AURUM, which translates to gold in English, is an exceptional new restaurant in the heart of Sandton. From exquisite interior to food that will leave you breathless, this taste destination should be on every (serious) foodie’s bucket list.
The food
Forget five-star, AURUM’s innovative menu focuses on an all new golden standard of European cuisine. As described on the website, “AURUM shifts the definition of opulence towards the things that really matter – love, warmth, and an enrichment in experience.” And that is exactly what you get – an experience that is more than memorable.
Instead of caviar and foie gras, your taste buds are treated to hearty food (that looks like art on a plate) made from sustainable ingredients. The team of chefs believe that farm to table is the best way to create exceptional cuisine. They proudly trade and source all their produce honestly and support local farmers.
AURUM’s Dark menu, Luna, is served for dinner and is the perfect choice for a special occasion. Some of our favourite dishes included the lemon and sheep cheese tortellini, smoked duck breast, beef rib-eye and slow braised pork belly.
If you’re looking to experience their Light menu, Solis, you will be treated to an a la carte breakfast, brunch or lunch offering.
The extensive wine list features 99 different fine wines from South Africa and around the world.

Décor & ambience
Sophisticated and elegant with modern architecture and design. AURUM is situated inside Sandton’s 55 floor mixed-use property development, The Leonardo, which will be the tallest building in Africa once completed.
Owning up to it’s name, AURUM is the epitome of luxurious golden design. The décor includes a lot of gold elements, soft brown leather couches, modern midnight blue chairs and a beautiful marble-inspired bar.
