The long weekend of Easter is coming up at a fast pace. If there ever was a time to gather and celebrate, this is indeed the opportunity. If you are planning a lovely Easter Sunday feast, we have a few recipes to get you going. Our advice is to stick to the classics that work, but with a little updating. Keep it simple on the day to keep your time spent with your loved ones. And Easter is about the sweets treats anyway!
But first, breakfast!
Hot cross bun loaf
The family will love waking up to something special for Easter morning. We suggest this Hot Cross Bun Loaf – just slice it up, grab the butter and jam and let everyone dig in!
Lunch
Asparagus quiche
This quiche not only looks impressive – we can assure you that it tastes just as good!
Maple chilli carrots wrapped in bacon
The sweet and salty flavour combination will have them coming back for more.
Herb-crusted rack of lamb
It wouldn’t be an Easter Sunday feast without a delicious tender lamb. This aromatic rack will keep for sandwiches the next day. Just pull off the bone and slice the medallions. You can ask your butcher to ‘French trim’ the lamb ends, then cover each with a foil jacket when cooking.
For dessert
Pistachio simnel cake
No Easter is complete without a traditional simnel. Ours is made with homemade marzipan.
Chocolate orange marble bundt
This one is for the chocolate lovers, and especially the Easter Sunday feast type. Speckled eggs of course! The topping of this cake makes a real showstopper.
