As it was for many of us for different and similar reasons, 2020 was by no means a year of calm. For Adele, beyond the pandemic, she also suffered a terrible split with the father of her son, Simon Konecki.
After releasing 30, the album that became the anthem to almost everyone’s third glass of wine in 2021, it became clear that the album was as much personal as it was relatable. Adele’s emotions spread over the course of a few tracks are raw, honest and as Adele put it to British Vogue, a form of “self-destruction.”
However, it’s often that same destruction that inspires creation and healing. And after Adele’s recent gushing over her new partner, the songstress is relishing on the other side of heartbreak.
In an interview with Elle, titled The Glorious Age of Adele the legend that is Miss Adele did anything but hide how loved-up she is with Rich Paul, the 40-year-old American sports agent whose company represents the likes of LeBron James. As Adele shares, Paul is lucky that she loves basketball.
Adele’s interview was like an open love letter in which she shared:
“I’ve never been in love like this. I’m obsessed with him.”
She also went on to say that she wants to get married again, but isn’t engaged. She went on to sing that she’s just in love and as happy as she’ll ever be adding that “I might as well be married.”
Adele and Paul got together just over a year ago, but had actually met a few years prior.
If there are any cues to take from Adele (besides her obvious charm and work ethic) it’s certainly that love can find us even in the messiest times.
