22 August marks the beginning of Virgo season – filled will a new moon, refreshing energy and a chance to ground ourselves in the Earth sign’s practicality (while still striding towards our goals and dreams – even if the steps might need to be a little smaller).
We’ve all been lulled into main character energy thanks to Leo season, and for many that meant important decisions, big changes and a desire for acknowledgement in many realms – whether professional or personal.
Out in the realms of the stars and planets, mars entered into Gemini – digressing from its usual six-week zodiac pilgrimage and set to stay put in the sign until March 2023, as Narayana Montufar notes. This meant a lot of us started to get in tune with our masculine energy and paired with the lion sign, this translated to a headstrong stance for many.
However, stepping into the Virgo season means it’s time for us to shift our focus to more relaxing routined and sensible pastures.
Virgo – the sign of practicality, carefulness ad thoughtfulness (which often results in overthinking for most of these Sun Signs) is set to pave us with an important essence this season.
If you’ve been trying to create good habits, set smaller goals leading to your bigger ones and trying to ground yourself – now is the time.
As spring emerges and collides with Virgo’s earth-centric energy, a sense of rebirth and a clean slate are set to glow within and around us.
Mercury will take centre stage for a lot of our inclinations thanks to Mars being in Gemini and Virgo season combined, as both are ruled by the planet.
Mercury is the planet of communication, intellect and memory as author Maria Silva emphasises in her book. However, as lovely as this sounds, anyone who’s ever knowingly felt the wrath of Mercury’s retrograde knows, it’s not quite that simple. For many, Mercury’s spotlight is usually on challenges, and using these elements of its often how you get through them.
Although Virgo season will give many an opportunity to restore balance (whatever that looks like to you) Virgo also has its Ts and Cs. Cue perfectionism overthinking.
As astrologer Stephanie Campos notes, “Virgo is in tune with doing things the correct way and getting down to problem-solving.” However, being too obsessed with details and ‘getting things right’ can often block us from seeing the bigger picture.
Although it’s a time to be inspired by the little steps, getting too caught up in them is just as unproductive as not setting them at all.
Virgo’s are also known to be generous or naturally willing to give their service, as Dr Molly Pennington shares. So, in the season of the sign, it’s a good time to start giving back where you can and with what you’re realistically capable of giving.
This doesn’t mean giving absolutely all of yourself to someone or something (as many Virgos do) but rather finding a balance or better – creating one.
