Every few years, a story triggering the same debate arises. Should people get engaged at other people’s weddings? Is it the sin of all weddings or a rom-com-approved opportunity?
Last year, Mirror shared the story of a man who proposed at his sister’s wedding. Even though there was “no big show” in his words, his sister hadn’t taken well to hearing that he “stole her thunder.”
A week ago, a TikTok went viral following a similar thread; sibling gets engaged at their sister’s wedding. However, this time the bride was in on the moment and even purposefully passed the baton (bouquet) onto her sister, who couldn’t have been more surprised.

Despite the bride’s seemingly obvious joy in sharing her day and the age-old debate was quicky ignited. Still, there seemed to be far more support from the ‘share the love camp’ than the ‘pick another day’ troop.
The video has since amassed millions of views and 2.5 million likes. Here’s what people had to say:
