Jack Black Brewery is calling on the running community to go the extra mile and donate their pre-loved shoes through its Shoes for Good initiative.
Now in its fifth year, shoes will be donated to those who need them most through the JAG Foundation.
Shoes for Good is an initiative done in partnership between the brewer and Ultra Trail Cape Town (UTCT).
The drive will take place from 24 to 26 November.
Last year’s Shoes for Good initiative was a massive hit, with over 500 shoes collected from 17 different partners.
As a gesture of their appreciation, just like in previous years, Jack Black is offering a pint on the house to everyone who donates directly at their taproom.
In addition, The Sneaker Shack will be playing a pivotal role this year by giving new life to your pre-loved running shoes before they’re donated, making sure there are unforgettable adventures to come.
As part of the initiative, UTCT offers a variety of trail runs catering to all levels. Whether you’re doing the Ultra-Trail 100km, Peninsula Traverse 55km, Table Mountain 35km or Explorer 23km, there’s a challenge for everyone.
No matter how fast or slow you go, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views and some of the most beautiful trails Cape Town has to offer.
Jack Black is inviting the running community to bring along their used road or trail shoes – whether they’re old pairs from home or the ones you’ll be wearing when you cross the finish line.
At the race village, you’ll find donation boxes where you can drop them off. Your shoes will be given a second life, benefiting those in need via the JAG Foundation.
After conquering those trails and making a positive impact, it’s time to celebrate that finish line feeling! Jack Black will be waiting at the finish line, so you can crack open a cold one and raise a toast to your triumph.
You can also donate your pre-loved shoes to Shoes For Good at one of the following until 26 November.
- Jack Black’s Taproom
- Tuesday Trails
- Kom Run Club
- Chicks Who Trail
- Stellies Shakeout
- Must Love Hills
- Gone. Constantia
- Patagonia, Waterfront
