In the fashion world, trends come and go. Each year, we’re introduced to the latest trend, or we breathe new life into fashion moments from bygone eras. When it comes to your personal style, it’s always important to know that trends come as a suggestion – you decide how to wear them! Let’s take a look at what trends 2023 will bring, and how to incorporate them into your wardrobe.
The button-up blazer is here to stay
What was once associated with formal office wear has become a staple piece in every wardrobe. Whether you prefer a colour blazer or a neutral one that can give your more versatility and usage, the blazer is an investment piece. Pair it with casual denim for a more relaxed look. You can also layer underneath the blazer depending on what the weather looks like outside. This year will bring even more exciting fabrication options and definitely more and more colour options.
Glitter and sparkle will make all things just a little more whimsical
Sparkle tends to scare people off as it is seen as ‘too bold’ or ‘out there’ but when done in the right way that suits your style, it can be extremely fun and playful. This year will bring more sparkle and glitter in accessories for shoes, necklaces, earrings, head accessories and so much more. Start small and build your way into the trend if it resonates with you.
Flats are here and they are here to stay!
With so many people still working from home, or just making the change and adjustment to being back in the office, flats have become so popular. Women have become used to being in their slippers or crocs all day at home so transitioning back into heels for the office just won’t do. Shoes like sandals, ballerina pumps, or even just kitten heel has become so popular to dress up and still have all the comfort in the world.
Pops of pretty pink
The exciting thing about the colour pink is that it offers so many different shades. Whether you prefer a neon take on it or a subtle subdued version like a baby or dusty pink, there is a shade to suit your style. When I think all things pink, the first thing that comes to mind is Barbie, and this year the live-action version comes to theatres which definitely means oink will have a huge impact on the culture of fashion for the year. No matter if you are in your 20s or 60s, there’s a pink out there for you.
50 shades of green are the all the talk
And just like pink, green will become even more popular this year. Last year we saw this colour be quite popular and it is here to stay for the year. When wearing it, combine different shades of it which creates more dimension to your outfit. However, if a full green look overwhelms you, opt for neutral pieces in between for balance.
