A new partnership between Selena Gomez and 20th Century Studios has the movie scene filled with excitement for the reboot of the classic Working Girl, and we want front-row seats.
Originally Directed by Mike Nichols, the 1988 romantic comedy starring Melanie Griffith, Harrison Ford and Sigourney Weaver is being remade and there are talks that Selena Gomez will be producing the remake as per Deadline. Plot recap: Working Girl tells the story of a woman who secretly takes over her boss’s job while she recovers from a broken leg, however, said boss attempts to take credit for a profitable business pitch in a comedic telling.
Having started her acting career very young on the popular kids’ television show Barney, Selena moved onto bigger screens, became a Disney princess, and then shone on the singing stage. Now, she’s a Hollywood hotshot producing series and movies – a come-up story that oozes inspiration. The inspiring, award-winning young lady has ventured into the world of beauty as well with the launch of her own beauty line called Rare Beauty which holds an all-important connection to mental health. It’s no secret that mental health is something that Selena has had to deal with on a personal level and has spoken openly and honestly about. We salute her for that!
There is no news if Selena Gomez will star in the reboot of the iconic film but we will keep our eyes glued to the screen knowing that she’ll be producing. Selena has also been very busy working on the series Only Murders in the Building, which is on its second season.
Stay Tuned!
