Egg whites and lemon
When used together, these ingredients can do wonders for your skin. Egg whites have skin-tightening effects and absorb excess oil from the skin. They also contain minerals and vitamins that can improve your skin’s overall appearance. Lemon, on the other hand, has antibacterial properties to remove bacteria to keep your skin clear.
Here’s how you can make an egg white and lemon face mask:
- Mix one egg white with a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice.
- Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for 10 minutes or until the mask dries.
- Rinse off with warm water.

Honey
It appears that our taste buds are not the only thing that honey does wonders to. When applied to your face, honey’s antibacterial and antiseptic abilities can reduce oiliness while keeping your skin smooth. This is because honey is a natural humectant, a substance that reduces the loss of moisture. Apply a thin layer of honey(preferably raw) onto your face and leave it on for 10 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
Oatmeal
The grain in oatmeal can gently exfoliate, soothe skin and absorb excess oil. To use on your face:
- Mix half a cup of ground oats with hot water then add one tablespoon of honey.
- Massage on to your face gently for 3-5 minutes.
- Rinse off with warm water.
Once you’ve washed off the oatmeal and your skin is dry, apply a mattyfying cream to seal in all that goodness!
