Supermodel Kate Mosshas dominated the fashion world since the early 1990s and has long been seen as a style icon.
What’s next for this iconic British model? Setting her sights on wellness, Moss is launching a new brand – Cosmoss.
Inspired by the therapeutic force of being in a beautiful garden, Cosmoss was born.
Kate shares in an interview with Vogue that there’s a beloved garden in her London home that has always been special to her.
It’s her place of retreat after travelling or when feeling exhausted. She says: “I come here and lie on the grass and burn frankincense. I listen to music and have a moment of peace. It’s so peaceful. This is where I feel grounded.”
This garden played an impactful role in the entire process in the birth of Cosmoss, from the development of the product to the packaging that has that beautiful garden, magical feel.
Wellness is on Kate Moss’s radar
Improving her personal well-being has been Kates’s focus after experiencing a few problems with her adrenal glands and nervous system.
She has a strong belief in self-healing and a desire to take care of herself emotionally and physically as well as taking a holistic approach to her healing.
All of these lead to the idea of her brand. During her healing, she references the Big Book, a self-help book that consists of 12 steps to recovery.
Moss states: “I learnt to look at myself, at my shortcomings and truthfully at who I am. And not be afraid. I started meditating every day, doing transcendental meditation, wild swimming… I tried everything [new].”
What will ‘Cosmoss’ entail?
Cosmoss is a collection curated to treat inside and out. It includes a moisturiser, cleanser, the Sacred Mist eau de perfume and a rich antioxidant oil called ‘Golden Nectar’ – to replicate the daily ritual that Kate has been doing for years.
CBD and bakuchiol (a plant alternative to retinol) are the star ingredients within the skincare products and the fragrance mist sees an aromatic blend of bergamot, tuberose and grounding woods to uplift the spirits.
The range also includes two mood-boosting teas: an energising blender the morning and a calming one for the evening. All products are vegan, sustainable sourced and environmentally conscious.
Kate says the range is genuinely about her and didn’t want to portray anything that wasn’t authentic. “I am not putting my name on just anything. Because I can’t lie” she says.
Kate believes that at the age of 48 she has never felt better having built her sense of self. She still loves modelling – “Modelling is a means to an end. it is paying for all the thing that I want to do” but proudly adds “I’m funding Cosmoss by myself.”
Kate ends by saying “I feel like I am in flow.”
