How do you make a sugar scrub?
For luscious lips: Rose petal sugar scrub
I have long been a fan of homemade lip scrubs, and usually rummage through my kitchen pantry for two spoonfuls of brown sugar and a dollop of honey to rub over dry skin, chapped lips, for a pre-lipstick application buff.
Coconut oil is well-known for its anti-microbial properties, while brown sugar works well to gently exfoliate. Sweet almond oil works to smooth and soften with Vitamin E.
The addition of crushed, chopped or blitzed-up rose petals helps to bring a lovely hint of colour too, making this lip scrub a must-try!
What you’ll need:
- 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar
- 1 cup of coconut oil (melted)
- 1 tablespoon of sweet almond oil
- Petals from one rose (pink or red)
- 1 clean mason jar with a lid or an old mustard/gherkin jar from the fridge (sterilize before use)
