15 minutes to get ready
Nail polish: A rich cherry rouge nail polish instantly adds evening glamour. Try OPI shimmering Nail Polish in Big Apple Red, R160. Then add Morgan Taylor Need for Speed Fast Dry Nail Top Coat, R135, over the top to make polish touch dry while you do your make-up.
Lipstick: Red lips say party, but keep your look modern and fresh by using it as a stain. I love Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Two Ton Tomato, R230.
Face powder: This is easily done if you use a mineral face powder, such as MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural, R350, as you can top these up without skin looking powdery. Pop on a little cream, such as Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks, R365.
30 minutes to get ready
Shower: Dove Purely Pampering Body Wash, R24,95 for 250ml. Next, massage in a softening butter body cream, such as Nivea Body Lotion Rich Nourishing, R51,95 for 625ml.
Feet: When there’s no time for a pedicure, Healthy Feet Cream For Dry Feet, R20,95 for 100g, will condition in a flash. For painted nails in under a minute, try Sally Hansen Cuticle Massage Cream, R52,95.
Perfume: We love Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette Spray, R1065 for 50ml, and Lancome La Vie Est Belle Eau de Parfum Spray, R1100 for 50ml.
One hour to get ready
Refresh: Mix a smoothing, firming skin lustre gel with your foundation or wear alone on top of your moisturiser. Clinique Repairwear Uplifting Firming Cream, R795, will perk up tired skin.
Eyes: Just ten to 15 minutes with a couple of eye masks leaves skin refreshed and ready for make-up. Try Lancome Hydra Intense Gel Mask, R470.
Skin: Clean skin is the secret to great make-up. My favourite MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance, R420 for 50ml. Make sure you always apply moisturiser underneath.
Makeup base: Always finish by stroking foundation (powder and blusher too) downwards, rather than pushing pigment up and into the pores, which only highlights them more. Pick of the foundations: Clinique Superbalanced Makeup, R380.
