The deconstructed bob
The bob will always be a trend, but a bit of personalising to suit your hair type will give it a whole new edge.
This season the bob is more gentle and soft around the edges with a hint of colour for those sun-kissed tips, to create two-dimensional natural movement.
“This style works well on all hair types, but will take a bit more time to maintain,” Matthew advises. “I would recommend a good hair dryer and medium size brush. To style, a good mousse, heat protector, and a natural hold hairspray to keep the finished look in place. Veaudry stocks all of these goodies.”
The grown out pixie
The pixie hairstyle made its mark in the hair industry in the early 90’s, and this this look has always been classy and sophisticated.
In 2018 the pixie cut has a lot more texture to it, making it more edgy but still keeping the style elegant, much like the cut Deadpool actress Morena Baccarin used to sport.
The key with this style is to have it cut as choppy as you can with disconnected lines.
This style is great for women with medium to fine hair texture, with a slight wave or straight hair, or even thicker hair types.
“I would not recommend this style for very curly or highly textured hair,” Matthew says.
Matthew suggests using a good texturising wax with hair spray, or if you want to leave it looking a little more undefined, use a strong hold gel or wax.
With this style you are able to dress it up or down – a real low maintenance style.
Work hard, play hard
As we head towards warmer weather and the party season, some days require a few different looks as we transition from work looks to more casual ones.
This half-up twisted knot is so versatile that it can work as both a day look and evening look.
“Keep that playful side during the day by putting your beach wave curls up in a knot, leaving a bit of hair to frame your face. It’s a quick and easy style to achieve,” Matthew says.
Let your hair down and enjoy a night out on the town by loosening up your style and allowing your waves to flow. Then spray on a little dry shampoo to revive your style.
All you need to create this look is a good hair tie, dry shampoo and hairspray.
Love your Afro
According to Matthew, keeping your natural Afro healthy and shiny this Spring is a must.
Get the correct home care and just accessorise with a narrow head scarf, Alice band, and pretty slide clip to complete the look.
“The key with this look is to keep your hair looking healthy with a lot of shine, with a moisturising range like the MUK Spa Argan+ range, which is packed with Argan oil,” Matthew says.
“It’s important to treat your hair with a good treatment mask once a week. Invest in a good shine spray that is light-weight and good for everyday use.”
