Natasha Joubert has been crowned as Miss South Africa 2023.
Miss South Africa kicked off with a spectacular opening on Sunday 13 August, as guests lined the red carpet dressed to the nines in anticipation for Ndavi Nokeri to crown to Miss South Africa 2023.
Bonang Matheba made her comeback as host to the pageant and dazzled on the red carpet.

A star-studded panel of judges to the likes of Leandie du Randt, Devi Sankaree Govender, Miss Universe R’bonney Nola, Thuso Mbedu and our very own April cover star, Jo-Ann Strauss took their seats to find SA’s crowned queen amongst the top 7 finalists.

Miss South Africa 2022, Ndavi Nokeri, graced the stage in her iconic Miss Universe gown designed by Juan William Aria, with a word of advice to the new Miss South Africa, who she would later on be crowning:
“The crown does not define you and the woman that you are, you define this crown.”

In what the pageant called its “most exquisite moment of the evening” the top 5 finalists, Homba Mazaleni (23), Nande Mabala (25), Natasha Joubert (25), Bryoni Govender (26) , Melissa Nayimuli (27) graced the stage in dresses designed by SA’s own Gert Johan Coetzee before the judges started their rounds of questions to determine who would take the crown.

Nande Mabala came in at third place, with Bryoni Govender nabbing the runner-up title and Natasha Joubert earning her crown as Miss South Africa 2023.

The 25-year-old, hailing from Tshwane in Gauteng, is a BCom Marketing Management graduate and the owner and designer of Natalia Jefferys, a fashion brand she started at 19-years old.
Many may recognise Joubert from Miss South Africa 2022, when she came inches away from the crown as runner-up.
Hours before the big event on Sunday, Natasha posted to Instagram, sharing:
“I’m here, ready for you South Africa. Tonight is the night.”
