In a glamorous event at Sun City’s Superbowl on Saturday night, 18-year-old Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg from Pretoria was crowned Miss World South Africa 2024.
The Faerie Glen resident was crowned alongside runners-up Romanda Hombi and Nande Mabala.
Jansen van Rensburg, a recent matriculant, follows in the footsteps of her predecessor, Dr. Claude Mashego.
A fresh face in the world of pageantry, Zoalize left her first job as a digital and marketing executive at Scuderia Ferrari South Africa to focus on her new role as Miss World SA.
The beauty queen is set to represent South Africa at the 72nd Miss World pageant in February 2025.

The Miss World SA’s ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ project ties in with her intention to “increase global visibility and audibility for the youth. The initiative provides daily affirmative content, workshops, an e-guide on building curricula vitae, and global ambassadorship positions.
Jansen van Rensburg explained to The Times, “I hope to use the power of social media to enrich our community with mental fortitude as well as self-encouragement. This is the key foundation needed to integrate our youth into positions of acknowledgment.”
The Miss World South Africa pageant finale aired live on S3. The show, hosted by ProVerb, included a judging panel to the likes of Rea Malatji, Ntsoaki Ledimo, Norman Cahi, Malaak Compton-Rock, and Taibar Bacar.
