Nominations for the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced Thursday morning, and we’ve got the lowdown on all the nominees as well as the snubs.
It comes as no surprise that Game of Thrones came out on top with an impressive 23 nominations. Close behind was the new event series; The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, with 22 nominations. Furthermore, Fargo and Veep were among the top-ranking shows with 18 and 17 nominations respectively.
Another crowd favourite which managed to land a nomination is the hilarious and ever-popular Modern Family.
We know that not every show can be nominated but here are the most surprising snubs of this Emmy season:
- Actress Julianna Margulies of The Good Wife
- The Walking Dead
- American Idol
- The Daily Show with Trevor Noah
- Orange is the New Black – This may very well be the biggest snub this year. After its first season this popular show received a massive 12 nominations in the Outstanding Comedy categories and yet was overlooked this season
