Radio host with the most, Ryan O’Connor, released a heartfelt goodbye to his Heart FM family this morning as he announced a new, exciting journey ahead. Joined by his immediate family, Ryan took to social media to share a message that will bring a smile to your dial…

“Happy Sunday everyone!
As most of you know my journey at Heart FM comes to an end this week Wednesday. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Heart family. To the producers I’ve worked with, Grant Jansen and Jodi West and previously Duncan Patrick, you guys were great I’m gonna miss the gees. To Jo-Dee Butler and Jeremy Harris (who I can’t seem to tag) and then Olwethu Nodada – you guys were brilliant, you made afternoons a breeze!
To all of you who followed my career path: CCFM to Radio 94.5 KFM then Good Hope FM then 94.5KFM then back to Good Hope FM then adding 5FM then back to KFM 94.5 then adding Highveld Stereo then 947 then Heart FM — whew! Thank you! It doesn’t end though…
I’m excited to announce I will be joining the family at Smile 90.4FM.
I literally only stepped into the Smile building for the first time last week. As a radio fan, I have loved the morning show with Bobby Brown and Lindy Lehto so this is a huge honour to be taking over the ‘hot seat’. They have set the bar high so I really hope our new team can deliver on waking you up and starting your day off on the right footing.
I will be joined by two amazing talents. Ricky Schroeder and Success Lekabe (both former professional sports turned media professionals) will fill the seats of sport and traffic. I am so excited to be working with them as they are dynamic and have amazing energy and charisma.
To all the loyal Smile 90.4 FM family, from mine to yours, I can’t wait to wake up with you in the mornings coming soon.
