What comes to mind when you think of a bucket-list travel adventure in Africa?
And no, I’m not talking about the hustle and bustle of city centres like Johannesburg, Kinshasa or Lagos. I’m talking about the vast and, for the most part, untouched landscapes of our culturally-rich continent with tons of hidden gems and must-see destinations.
The places where rivers flow in abundance, safaris are plentiful and elephants can be found roaming on your doorstep.
Sounds like a trip you’d add to your bucket-list?
Then, once the nationwide travel-ban has been lifted, pack your passport, sunscreen, binoculars and hop on a flight to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

Activities To Do In and Around The Lodge
If you prefer the warm, happiness-inducing African weather in a social setting, head down to the Buffalo Bar for a delicious bite to eat and get ready for one of the lodge’s many on-site activities with something called the ‘Vulture Culture Experience’.
Vulture Culture
Settle in and watch as thousands of vultures and other wild birds like the big marabou stork circle the watering hole as they get ready for a meat-leftover meal in what’s known as a ‘live feeding’.
The vulture culture is an initiative that was started by the lodge as an attempt to bring the dwindling vultures’ numbers up due to poisoning and traditional muti-making.

Celebrate The Night Away
You’ll also be able to witness live traditional dancing, drumming, face painting and even fortunetelling while you enjoy your meal.
The celebration will start as soon as you arrive, as guests are invited to don traditional sarongs called ‘chitenges’ and taste homemade Zimbabwean Umqombothi beer. Don’t be surprised if the men at your table are served first though, as this is customary.
Then, end your evening with a bang and earn a certificate for munching on a mopane worm, or two.
