World-renowned Italian opera star, Andrea Bocelli, will return to South Africa for the first time in six years, with three live performances in Cape Town and Pretoria.
Celebrating his 30th anniversary in music, Andrea Bocelli will take to the South African stage in April 2025, where he will perform at Pretoria’s SunBet Arena before making his way to Cape Town’s DHL stadium, where he will perform the largest outdoor classical concert that Cape Town has ever seen.
Bocelli’s performances will feature the finest of South Africa’s musical talent.
In Pretoria, a special guest artist, a soprano, The Symphony Choir of Johannesburg and the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra will join Bocelli on stage.
In Cape Town, The Philharmonia Choir of Cape Town and the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra will perform along with the opera star.
These performances will mark Bocelli’s second return to South Africa – six years after his two live concerts in Johannesburg and Cape Town in 2019.
As per IOL, Bocelli has sold more than 90 million records and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, among many other accolades during his musical career. Bocelli has performed for the British royal family, as well as for several presidents, political leaders, and celebrities.
He has performed for several high-profiled personalities including four presidents of the US, three popes, the British royal family and many prime ministers.
