The iconic 2003 film starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie-Lee Curtis, Freaky Friday, may just be making a comeback after nineteen years! After claims from Lohan and Curtis who are reportedly ‘keen to get the production going’ it’s all up to Disney whether we’ll see a sequel gracing our screens anytime soon.
In a recent interview with Variety, Curtis said:
“I’m 64 in a week and Lindsay is 36. [A sequel] lends itself so beautifully,”
In the same interview Curtis also mentions that there is no schedule date, but ‘the right people are talking.’ Although the actress claims they are a way away from kicking of production for a new film, the stars of the show certainly seem more than ready for a comeback.
This brings hope for those of us who were and still are obsessed with the early 2000s films era. Lohan already made an on-screen comeback in her recent Netflix original film Falling for Christmas. Fans were elated to see Lindsay grace their screens after so many years.

When Lohan’s new film was released earlier this month, Curtis shared the love for Lindsay on Instagram, and congratulating her on her new success.
In a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon, Lindsay says:
“Let’s just take the fact that I was on set filming at the time, and Jamie Lee Curtis writes, and you just get excited and distracted immediately, so I had to bring myself down to Earth and be like, ‘I’m on set, I have to focus…’ Then she said ‘Freaky Friday 2,’ and I got more excited!”
With both leading actresses more than keen to buckle down for a part two, now it’s all eyes on you, Disney.
