Late in March, news broke that Beauchamp has unfortunately been diagnosed with severe heart failure and requires urgent surgery at Steve Biko Hospital.
Local artists and galleries have since rallied together to raise a total of R500 000 in funds for Vusi’s operation.
Taking to social media to share the plea for help, Aspire Art and Johannesburg-based Kalashnikovv Gallery announced that they would be teaming up to host an in-person exhibition and an online auction to raise funds for the urgent medical attention required by the 44-year-old father and artist.
Artists in support of Beauchamp have donated works to be auctioned off to raise funds, along with Vusi’s works. All pieces will be exhibited at the Aspire Art Gallery in Johannesburg’s Parkwood on Saturday 6 April from 11am to 3pm. Vusi and his family will be at the exhibition to share their thanks with supporters.
