Ayanda Thabethe, the stunning 23-year-old runner-up to Miss South Africa 2022, is currently in Poland representing South Africa at one of the biggest nights in pageantry, the 14th edition of Miss Supranational.
Traveling from her hometown outside of Pietermaritzburg, Thabethe has already stunned the panel at the preliminary shows of Miss Supranational in Nowy Sacz, Malopolska, Poland.
With only one more day to go until the pageant’s grand finale, Thabethe has already proved herself as a top contender.

Ayanda strutted her stuff on the runway in a beautiful blue gown made by local designer Juan Visser from Juan Visser Aria. The gown he made for Thabethe’s preliminary show was inspired by KwaZulu-Natal’s stunning coastline and ocean waters.

An Instagram post made by Miss South Africa details more about Ayanda’s stunning dress:
“Inspired by the beautiful body of water surrounding South Africa.”
“Ayanda feels spiritually connected to any body of water. Water in all its glory is considered a purifier of the soul.”
“As a symbol of life, water represents divine generosity. While personifying healing and suffering, protection and vulnerability, change and consistency, stillness and rage.”
“Captured so beautifully by the master craftsmanship of Juan Visser Aria we present to you Ayanda Thabethe. our Goddess rising from the ocean!”

Beyond stunning the panel with her preliminary looks, Ayanda also came in at top 5 for delivering great answers during the finals of #suprachat 2023 with India, Canada, India, Philippines and Peru.
With such positive results so far, Thabethe proves to be a top contender in her representation of Miss Supranational South Africa. We can’t wait to see what she will pull off in the grand finale tomorrow, 14 July.

Thabethe isn’t the only South African making us proud at the Miss Supranational pageant all the way in Poland this year!
Two more leading SA ladies, including celebrity entrepreneur Jo-Ann Strauss and Lalela Mswane (Miss Supranational 2022) will be involved in the international grand finale.
Jo-Ann Strauss posted a glimpse of an gorgeous dress that (we assume) she will be donning for the grand finale, which she will be hosting. Strauss writes:
“Time to host another incredible event on a global stage and this time I’m in Poland to host Miss Supranational with inspirational and aspirational women from across the world. Let’s embrace the spirit of Ubuntu.”
