It’s been more than 7 months since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, and sadly brought an end to Hollywood’s golden couple.
What started off as a bit of a nasty battle, with Brad being investigated by Child Protective Services, has become smoother lately with the Allied actor being cleared of all allegations and the ex-couple putting on a united front for their kids.
And while Angelina has spoken out on camera in recent months, the other half of Brangelina has stayed quiet and under the radar. But, thanks to a recent interview with GQ, we’re finally able to find out about Brad.
Brad admits that life hasn’t been easy without his family and has been more concerned about his children than anything else.
“I was really on my back and chained to a system when Child Services was called. And you know, after that, we’ve been able to work together to sort this out. We’re both doing our best,” he said.
“I heard one lawyer say, ‘No one wins in court — it’s just a matter of who gets hurt worse.’ And it seems to be true, you spend a year just focused on building a case to prove your point and why you’re right and why they’re wrong, and it’s just an investment in vitriolic hatred. I just refuse. And fortunately my partner in this agrees. It’s just very, very jarring for the kids, to suddenly have their family ripped apart.”
Another point Brad made clear is that he’s serious about getting his drinking problem under control, a point of contention during earlier divorce negotiations.
“I was boozing too much,” Brad Pitt shared. “It’s just become a problem. And I’m really happy it’s been half a year now, which is bittersweet, but I’ve got my feelings in my fingertips again.”
On a positive note, Brad is getting back to work and you can catch him in his new Netflix movie, War Machine.
