The Spar Carols By Candlelight concerts kick off tomorrow with the first event in Pretoria.
A stellar cast – including Lloyd Cele, Kurt Darren, Elvis Blue, Charlize Berg and Swing City in Pretoria, and ChianoSky, Lloyd Cele, Richard Stirton, Ross from Prime Circle, Kahn from the Parlotones, Charlize Berg and Swing City in Johannesburg – will join voices with the Soweto Gospel Choir for the 2016 Jacaranda FM and Spar Carols by Candlelight.
This will take place at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on 1 December and at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on 3 December.
Entry is free but attendees are encouraged to bring a toy (not wrapped) which will be delivered to three selected charity organisations – Child Welfare Tshwane, Heartbeat and Hanna Charities.
According to Jacaranda FM’s General Manager, Kevin Fine: “The annual Carols by Candlelight is a huge highlight on our calendar, attended by thousands of people each year. It’s a privilege to not only share this special time with our listeners, but also to spread the festive cheer to those who are less fortunate. In 2015 we managed to collect 289 boxes of toys and over R60 000 in cash for children in need. In 2016 we hope to collect even more!”
