Anna Wintour and Bill Nighy have confirmed their relationship, and they did it in the most glamorous way possible – at the Met Gala on Monday night! The couple, both 73 and British, arrived arm-in-arm, putting an end to months of speculation about their romance.
The rumours first started circulating last December when they were spotted together at a New York screening of Nighy’s Oscar-nominated film, Living. But now, they’ve made their public debut, and according to friends of Wintour, they couldn’t be happier for the fashion icon.
Wintour, who has chaired or co-chaired the Met Gala since 1995, looked comfortable on the Met carpet with her science boffin beau, and was seen whispering in his ear and clutching his hand throughout the event.
This is not the first time Wintour has been in a high-profile relationship. She was previously married to psychiatrist David Shaffer, with whom she has two children, before embarking on a decades-long romance with investor Shelby Bryan. However, the couple split in 2020.
Nighy, on the other hand, has been notoriously private about his personal life. He was in a long-term relationship with English actress Diana Quick from 1982 until 2008, but since then, he hasn’t said much about his romantic endeavours.
Regardless of their past relationships, Wintour and Nighy seem to be happy and in love. The two look stunning together!
