At the grand finale of Miss Supranational held in Poland on Saturday evening, Bryoni Govender made South Africa proud, securing her spot in the pageant’s top 12, before accepting her shining titles as Miss Friendship and Miss Supranational Africa.
The prestigious international pageant saw the 27-year-old South African beauty fly the SA flag high, competing against 67 other glamorous contestants from around the globe.
Govender sparkled her way through preliminary rounds. A stand-out moment followed when the local beauty queen rocked her national costume – an agile, adaptable and fierce leopard proudly rocking its South African spots.
At the finale event, hosted by Nico Panagio in Poland on Saturday, Govender earned her spot in the top 12, before accepting her shining titles as Miss Friendship, and Miss Supranational Africa – yet another victory for South Africans to celebrate during Mandela Month.

Reflecting on her Miss Supranational experience, Govender took to Instagram writing:
“Dear younger Bryoni, you are divinely created. But the world will make you feel less worthy because of your shade of skin. It will become your biggest insecurity. But keep going because this will also one day become your superpower. God has many blessings and gifts in store for you! You will become a lawyer and advocate for those who are yet to find their voice, and on 6 July 2024 you will boldly stand on a global platform fully embracing yourself and representing your country 🇿🇦 So keep going,”
“I am so grateful for this entire experience. Thank you everyone for your love and never ending support,” she ended.

Govender placed second in the Miss South Africa pageant in 2023.
The beauty queen then went on to represent the nation at Miss Universe in November 2023. Following her dazzling top 20 achievement there, Govender accepted her title as Miss Supranational South Africa, representing the nation at Miss Supranational 2024.
Bryoni’s double-win at the Supranational pageant held in Poland followed Dr Fezile Mkhize’s incredible victory on Thursday night. The local doctor and actor scooped the prestigious title of Mister Supranational 2024.
