King Charles appears to be running out of performers for his upcoming coronation taking place on May 6th, 2023.
“Not long ago, superstar singer Adele and everyone’s favorite crooner Ed Sheeran made headlines for being the first to decline King Charles’ invitation to perform at his coronation, citing scheduling conflicts.”
Paper reports that while Ed Sheeran had a concert in Texas that day, Adele had no such commitments and simply did not want to perform. It was all good though because the Spice Girls were set to reunite on the King’s stage but that too, didn’t work out.
The rumour mill was buzzing with talk of the iconic girl group reuniting for the momentous occasion. However, they also declined. How about Harry Styles they thought? Still a big no, Harry is still finishing up his Love On Tour.
The last time there was a coronation was on June 2nd 1952 that of Queen Elizabeth II.
It doesn’t help that the coronation comes at a difficult time for the new Kings’ family, who are still reeling from the shocking allegations made by his son, Prince Harry in his autobiography, Spare.
Aside from uncomfortable details about Harry’s privates, there were anecdotes of Charles doing headstands in his underwear to alleviate back pain, claims that he didn’t hug Harry after breaking the news that his mother died and a sad anecdote about Charles refusing to compliment Harry to his face, opting for letters instead.
Charles was also said to be opposed to paying for Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, to become a full-time royal. The growing conflict between Markle and the Royals prompted her and Harry to resign and relocate to the United States.
Well, the question still remains…who will grace the stage at the first coronation in 71 years?
