Former Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Tebow has shared the emotional moment she and her husband, retired NFL player Tim Tebow, discovered the gender of their first child together.
The South African-born beauty queen took to Instagram to post a touching video of their unique gender reveal, where they created a piece of artwork that would later be displayed in their baby’s nursery.

A creative gender reveal
Demi-Leigh and Tim, dressed in matching white T-shirts and denim jeans, blindfolded each other before painting on a canvas, letting the moment of discovery be a complete surprise. Once they removed their blindfolds, the colour pink was revealed—confirming they are expecting a baby girl.

“Baby Tebow is a… GIRL! 🎀❤️🥺 Our greatest blessing,” Demi-Leigh wrote. “We’ve been praying for her long before we knew her, and we’re beyond grateful that God chose us to be her parents. We can’t wait to meet you, baby girl!”
The couple also incorporated their faith into the reveal by selecting Bible verses—one for a boy and one for a girl—that they planned to add to the artwork. For their daughter, they chose Psalm 25:4-5: ‘Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in you all day long.’
“We pray that she always finds her identity in Christ and places her hope in His love and truth,” Demi-Leigh added.
A celebration in South Africa
Though the couple are based in the United States, Demi-Leigh recently returned to South Africa to celebrate her pregnancy with a baby shower at La Motte, a picturesque wine estate in Franschhoek, Western Cape.
Demi-Leigh and Tim first met through the Tim Tebow Foundation, after her late sister, Franje, was invited to one of their events. A week ago, she paid a heartfelt tribute to Franje on what would have been her 19th birthday.
“Today would have been my little sister Franje’s 19th birthday. Today we celebrate her in heaven, where she is fully loved, fully known, and fully healed!” she wrote.
Reflecting on her sister’s impact on her life, she shared, “Franje’s life has taught me so many lessons in love, loss and grief, but one of the greatest lessons is: Instead of asking God ‘Why?’ try asking God ‘Where?’”
With her first child on the way, Demi-Leigh continues to embrace both her South African roots and her life in the United States while honouring the memories that have shaped her journey
