South Africa’s first black Springbok, Errol Tobias, has welcomed his fifth child at 74-years-old.
The former rugby player has welcomed a daughter, Emily-Rose, alongside his 30-year-old partner of almost two years, Ro-Andria Sylvester.
Errol, who lost his beloved wife of 44 years, Sandra, to a heart attack in March 2020, grieved for three years before finding new love.
According to a recent interview published by YOU, the couple met at a coffee shop – Ro-Andria’s place of work – on February 13, 2023. A day later, on Valentine’s Day, the two became a pair. Over a year later in June 2024, Tobias and Sylvester welcomed their first child together.
The couple live together in Caledon with their newborn daughter, and Sylvester’s eight-year-old daughter from a previous marriage. Tobias shares four adult children with his late wife, Sandra.
According to the couple’s interview with YOU, the pair are “taking it slow,” with no plans for marriage yet.
Tobias says that his daughter is a highlight in his life. According to Ro-Andria, Tobias’ age does not hold him back when it comes to raising their baby. They do everything together as a team.
“If I draw inspiration from the Bible, even Abraham had a child late in life. If this is God’s plan, I’m ready to embrace it,” Tobias says, as per YOU.
