Lana Del Rey fans, look sharp! The singer-songwriter has just shared news of an upcoming album, and the title song of said album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, is available for listening.
Lana’s ninth studio album, due for release in March next year, was made alongside Lana’s longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff as well as Drew Erickson and Zach Dawes.
The album will also feature guest artists to the likes of Father John Misty, Tommy Genesis, Jon Batiste and others.
Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd follows Lana’s previous 2021 albums, Chemtrails over The Country Club and Blue Banisters, which set Lana as record holder for the most No. 1 albums on Billboard’s Alternative Albums chart.
The news of Lana’s new album comes after troubling posts shared by the singer-songwriter earlier this year. In a video (which has since been taken down from her social platforms) Lana expressed her distress, claiming someone had stolen hard drives containing her new music and upcoming book manuscript.
Unfinished songs from the upcoming album were leaked, and Lana reportedly lost her book.
Fortunately the incident seems to have been resolved, as Lana has been excitedly sharing news of her upcoming album.
Five days ago, Lana released the title song of the album, setting the release date for March 10th, 2023.
In true Lana style, the singer-songwriter shared a typewritten letter about the upcoming album, along with album and vinyl artwork for Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.
In her letter, Lana says:
“So it’s coming out in March, and thank you to you guys for listening! The music is for fun and for you and for me. and not always free unless you’re streaming, ha -but spirited with the best intentions! xxx Lana”
