Rachel Kolisi has been candid about the emotional rollercoaster of her divorce from Springboks captain Siya Kolisi. As she navigates this new chapter, she’s using social media to share her reflections—both the challenges and the moments of gratitude.
February, she admits, has been particularly tough.

‘February is showing me flames’
Rachel, who shares two children with Siya—Nicholas (10) and Keziah (7)—and also adopted his younger siblings, Liyema and Liphelo, has been open about her healing journey. She’s used short videos to showcase the ‘darker’ side of the healing journey, alongside cute carousel posts with a few funny and uplifting memes.
In a recent Instagram update, she reflected on how surreal her life feels right now.
“I can’t believe this is my life. The amount of times I’ve said this in the last week (both for good and hard reasons) is wild.”
Despite the difficulties, she remains focused on the positives, hinting at exciting projects in the works. She continues:
“February is showing me flames 😂 but I’m working on so many good things with so many good people! Can’t wait to share! ❤️”

A focus on motherhood and purpose
Beyond her personal challenges, Rachel is channelling her energy into motherhood and her work with the Kolisi Foundation.
Speaking on The O-Factor on Heart FM, she shared her thoughts on the importance of parenting and breaking cycles of generational trauma.
“Almost every individual walking this earth has some childhood heartache that lingers into adulthood. Once we become adults, it’s our responsibility to address these issues in order to be better for our children. We may not raise a trauma-free generation, but we can work towards making their childhoods less painful.”
While Rachel continues to process this major life transition, she’s choosing to focus on growth, gratitude, and what’s next. And as she’s hinted, there’s more to come.
