Rachel Kolisi, former wife of Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, recently shared a deeply personal moment on TikTok, reflecting on her first solo journey since her divorce in October 2024.
In the video, Rachel documented her first solo mission to Botswana for a horseback safari – a trip that the former Springbok ‘First Lady’ has had on her bucket list for years.
In her video, Kolisi writes: “I’m in the process of getting divorced, and co-parenting my kids. This was the first new years without my kids so instead of sitting home alone…I booked a solo trip I’ve wanted to do for years!”
@rachelkolisi I did my dream trip this new year 🥹❤️ Thank you Botswana – you have a big piece of my heart 🇧🇼 I went with @AfricanHorseSafaris (not sponsored but had the BEST Experience) #botswana #africanhorsesafaris ♬ everything i wanted – s0ng4y0uu
The video captures Kolisi enjoying her time against the backdrop of the African bushveld. Highlights from her Botswana recap include horseback riding under rainbows, cruising on game drives, and moments of quiet reflection in nature.
On Instagram, Kolisi said that her nerves of travelling alone subsided as she met new friends on safari.
“Its the first solo trip I’ve done, and I’m an introvert, so I arrived super nervous, and sad and left with a very full heart and so many amazing new friends from all over the world,” wrote Kolisi, concluding her trip.
