Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus shares three children with former wife, Nicolene – twin daughters, Nikkie and Carli, 20, and their youngest, Jani, 13. The twins recently opened up about their pride in their dad.
Nikkie and Carli Erasmus, Rassie’s 20-year-old twin daughters, live together with their younger sister, Jani, and their mother, Nicolene – Rassie’s former wife of 26 years – in Cape Town’s northern suburbs.
Recently, the twins, both students at Stellenbosch University, opened up about their immense pride in their father, a Springbok rugby legend, in conversation with YOU Magazine.
Nikkie and Carli have always demonstrated support in their dad. In 2019 and in 2023, they attended the Rugby World Cups, cheering the Bokke, and their coach father, through two historical victories for South Africa.

They share a humorous and supportive relationship with their father, occasionally poking fun at him on social media. In 2022, the twins posted a video thanking World Rugby for his short ban. Jokes aside, Rassie has made his daughters proud.
According to YOU Magazine, the Erasmus twins did not realise their dad’s iconic status within the world of Rugby while growing up. Now, after seeing him guide South Africa’s champion Springbok team through World Cup victories, there’s no denying it:
“He’s truly a hero – there are even people who think he should be president,” said Carli. “Please let that man just remain head of rugby,” said Nikkie, adding “But I’m not going to lie – we’re very proud of him. He’s really achieved something no one else could.”
In the midst of navigating life after their parents’ divorce, the Erasmus twins have not waivered in support towards their father, who turned 52 in November 2024.

Rassie demonstrates as much pride and love for his daughters. In a recent post on social media, the Springbok coach shared a work of art by South African artist Anton Smit, adding that it reminded him of his twin daughters:
“This work [at Fomo Fine Art Gallery] always reminds me of the twins (sorry if boring) but i did make the twins ❤️”
