After two years of putting their careers first, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens are finally celebrating their honeymoon with an unforgettable safari adventure in South Africa.

A safari to remember
The Olympic gymnast and her NFL player husband, who tied the knot in April 2023, touched down in South Africa over the weekend. Biles took to Instagram to share their excitement, posting a snaps of them kissing on a plane before unveiling their lavish honeymoon suite on her Instagram stories.

On Monday, the couple kicked off their trip with a game drive, dressed in classic safari gear. Biles captured the moment with a selfie alongside Owens, later posting pictures of the wildlife they encountered, including zebras, a sleeping cheetah, and a warthog. Since, Biles has shared their stunning images from their game drives, including close ups of rhinos, more lions, and elephants.

Despite the thrill of the safari, the couple also made time to unwind, indulging in couples’ massages and sipping cocktails while taking in the breathtaking African landscape. She took to Instagram with a sweet image of her seemingly feeding an elephant with the caption “consider this my postcard from south africa 🇿🇦🩶🐘”

From the Olympics to the NFL: a love story on hold
Biles and Owens’ love story began in 2020 when they met on the Raya dating app. After a small courthouse ceremony in Houston, they celebrated their union again in a stunning destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
However, with Biles training for the 2024 Summer Olympics—where she clinched four medals—and Owens signing with the Chicago Bears, their honeymoon had to wait. The couple remained each other’s biggest supporters, with Biles frequently attending Owens’ games and Owens skipping an NFL practice to cheer on his wife during the Paris Olympics.
Now, after years of waiting, the couple is finally getting the honeymoon they deserve—blending adventure, relaxation, and romance under the African sun.
