Marise and Handre Pollard’s newborn son, Hunter, experienced a ‘core memory’ meeting his father’s World Cup-winning rugby squad ahead of the Boks’ first test match on home grounds this year.
Handre Pollard’s newborn son, Hunter, rubbed shoulders with rugby legends over the weekend, when he met the famous Springbok squad his father plays with, clad in South African colours. Well, almost South African colours.
The Boks proudly sported their alternate kit – a mint green number – in their successful test match against Ireland over the weekend.
The champion players, spurred on by their biggest fans, made the nation proud by winning their first match back on home soil. Before the game, the Springbok champs and their families reunited for the first time since their historical win in Paris last year.
The result, a number of adorable snaps shared by Springbok WAGs and newborn moms, capturing their children’s first meetings with the rest of the squad and their families.
One such snap, uploaded to Instagram by Pollard’s wife, is included in a carousel of images where the couple’s newborn son, three-month-old Hunter, poses for his first pictures with the world-cup winning team.
The collection of images feature baby Hunter with his mom and dad, pre-match, before he joins the champion group – Jesse Kriel, RG Snyman, Siya Kolisi, and his dad, Handre, for a first portrait.
Then, a photo with his dad, and Springbok captain, Siya Kolisi – a core memory to one day look back on.
A picture with fellow Bok baby, four-month-old daughter to Faf and Mine De Klerk, Remi-Ré, followed.
“Core memories,” wrote the Springbok wife in her post.
