Pop-singer/songwriter and superstar, Taylor Swift, released her tenth album Midnights at the witching hour last week on Friday, and it’s safe to say she broke the internet (and Spotify) as Swifties gathered online to enjoy her latest musings.
The album was so well received it sparked a viral fan frenzy that crashed mega streaming giant, Spotify, in the same breath.
Despite the slight technical difficulty, Swift’s hugely anticipated album set the record as Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day, later claiming another record for the most-streamed artist in a single day.
And before the clock could even strike midnight on October 22nd, Taylor Swift broke the record for most-streamed album in a single day in Spotify history. Congratulations, @taylorswift13 ♥️ pic.twitter.com/FpHfhrkqWL

In response to the streaming giant’s tweet announcing her records for the album, Swift responded:
“How did I get this lucky, having you guys out here doing something this mind blowing?! Like what even just happened??!?!”
In a tweet expanding on her 13-track album, Taylor reflects on what Midnights is:
Midnights is a collage of intensity, highs and lows and ebbs and flows. Life can be dark, starry, cloudy, terrifying, electrifying, hot, cold, romantic or lonely. Just like Midnights. Which is out now

Once Spotify was back up and running after Swift’s fandom crashed the app, listeners across the globe were enchanted by the “cool, collected and mature” (as received by The Guardian) tenth album from the star. Taylor had more up her sleeve, though, as she always does.
Three hours after the initial release of her album, at 3am, she released an extended 20-song version titled “Midnights (3am Edition).”
In a tweet about the 20-song edition, Taylor invites her fans to come along for the musical journey, discovering the sounds that led them to finding the ‘magic 13’ tracks for Midnights:
Surprise! I think of Midnights as a complete concept album, with those 13 songs forming a full picture of the intensities of that mystifying, mad hour. However! There were other songs we wrote on our journey to find that magic 13.https://t.co/jjqUNkpPke pic.twitter.com/LKI3GmpPRF

I’m calling them 3am tracks. Lately I’ve been loving the feeling of sharing more of our creative process with you, like we do with From The Vault tracks. So it’s 3am and I’m giving them to you now. 🌌https://t.co/jjqUNkGSme
