Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s family just become a little bigger as they welcomed the arrival of their new bundle of joy.
Friday the 13th has a completely new meaning for them now when People reported that the Legends announced the big news during a private concert that day– mere hours after the baby’s arrival.
“What a blessed day,” Legend said. He told a crowd at a private concert that they welcomed “the little baby [that] morning.”
The couple shares Luna, 6, and Miles, 4. But, in October 2020, they sadly lost their third child, Jack, when Teigen was 4 months into the pregnancy. Teigen was commended for how open and honest she was about the heartbreaking experience, admitting she had an abortion.
She told Hollywood Reporter: “When I was pregnant with Jack, John and my third child, I had to make a lot of difficult and heartbreaking decisions. It became very clear around halfway through that he would not survive, and that I wouldn’t either without any medical intervention.”
When Teigen announced her pregnancy last year, she wrote on Instagram: “the last few years have been a blur of emotions, to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again. 1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!), we have another on the way [sic].”

In an interview with People in March, Legend said that the family was excited about the new addition.
“My kids are old enough to really be aware of what’s happening, so they’re really anticipating having a new sibling in their lives. And I think they’ll be good at being a big sister and big brother,” he said.
Teigen told People that Luna and Miles were “very excited” about their family’s new addition and that they learned about her pregnancy early on.
She said “Since we did IVF, we knew probably nine days after we did the transfer that it had worked and we were pregnant. I told them very, very early.” She continued: “They knew that I was going in for the transfer, that we were going to go in and put this egg inside Mommy’s belly. So they knew from the very, very beginning and they knew there was a chance it might not work because that’s happened before.”
