No stranger to the screen, stage, or writing desk – bestselling children’s author, comedian and actor David Walliams is set to charm readers attending the Franschhoek Literary Festival in May.
Between the 17th and 19th of May, Franschhoek Literary Festival has announced that the bestselling Robodog author David Walliams will be in attendance at the annual festival of words, and that he’ll be taking to the stage to share his stories with South African audiences.
Walliams released his first novel in 2008, named The Boy in the Dress, and then shot to literary stardom publishing over 40 titles and selling over 56 million copies worldwide. The author’s most recent releases – namely The Blunders and The World’s Worst Monsters have already landed in the top 20 of bestselling children’s literature for 2024, continuing the author’s streak of topping the charts.
As per News24, Jennifer Ball – the festival’s Programme Director – says:
“We are hugely honoured and excited to host David Walliams, who has brought a love of reading into the lives of millions of children all the world over. His whimsical and hilarious stories will delight and enthral the whole family, and his events at the FLF are guaranteed to erupt into belly laughs,”
With the Franschhoek valley as its backdrop, the literary festival calls all writers, thinkers and book worms to pay a visit for entertaining and interactive workshops, one-one-ones, and panel discussions, exploring rich literary landscapes that extend throughout Mzansi and beyond.
Ticket sales start on 15 March for the Franschhoek Literary Festival (FLF), which falls between the 17th and 19th of May, 2024.
